An important message from Principal David Miles-

Dear Families of Sandpoint High School,

 Thank you for the support you have given us this year and specifically right now. It is always our goal to work with the community to create the best educational system for all of our students. I know there are a lot of questions, concerns, fears and anxiety right now, but rest assured Sandpoint High School is moving forward with a plan of action to help.

 Sandpoint High School is working hard to provide all of our students with continued educational opportunities and experiences. Our plan is to provide distance learning lesson plans delivered using our online Schoology platform. In some cases, packets will be available from our front office by contacting the teacher by email or phone. It would be best practice for students to check both their Schoology and Google email accounts as well as their Schoology class pages to access their teachers and the work assigned. Making quick contact by email with each teacher will help us decide who does not have internet access. Teachers will also be checking their phone messages regularly if email or internet is unavailable. We are continuing our current lessons with modifications to fit the situation with the expectation that students will continue to work on each of their classes during this time. We are also working on plans to extend this type of learning if this situation lasts beyond spring break.

 Students will be expected to continue working and learning to the best of their ability during this time. We still intend to give grades and feedback and credits for the courses they are taking which will be determined by the work students produce. With that stated, we completely understand unique situations and we will be flexible where we can be and are willing to work with families to determine how to best help in this regard.

 Most related educational services will continue to be provided by email or telephone: counselors are still available to help and assist, the front office will be here daily, and Special Education services will still be accessible by contacting those teachers. We are working on ideas to allow a limited number of students into the building for such things as tutoring, internet access, appointments with specific school individuals, and other services, but no concrete plan for that exists at this time. If you feel you need to meet, contacting that individual by email or telephone to create a plan is the best option at this time.

 Our district will be offering a Grab and Go school lunch option from 11am-1pm at the following sites: Farmin-Stidwell Elementary, Kootenai Elementary, and Clark Fork Junior/Senior High School.

 I have attached some additional resources to this email which may help you through this unique time. I thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to make this the best possible educational experience under the circumstances.
